The sole purpose of government is to protect your liberty. The Constitution is not to restrict the people, but to restrict government.  Ron Paul

The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first. - Thomas Jefferson

“Everyone wants to live at the expense of the State. They forget that the State lives at the expense of everyone.” — Frederic Bastiat

one oz silver, 4 gallons of gas then, 11 gallons of gas now. Says a lot.

Where can we buy 1oz silver coins and how do we know what to look for?

Will the clad copper dimes, quarters and half dollars have any + relative value if the dollar crashes. I mean basically will people accept them.

After the crash of 29 my grandfather had a car he had bought, tried to turn it in, the banker said "take it home", He took it home and set it up on blocks, I don't know how that story ended.

A merchatn in town bought bonds for pennies on the dollar at that time even though the issuers wouldnt buy them back at that time. When things got better the merchant did real well selling those bonds. Don't know what kind of bonds.

Thanks Anyone, ear

This is what we are up against in our fiat money. ear

From an email.

One Hundred Dollars   Description: Description: US Debt   $100 - Most-counterfeited money denomination in the world. Keeps the world moving.   Ten Thousand Dollars   Description: Description: US Debt   $10,000 - Enough for a great vacation or to buy a used car. Approximately one year of work for the average human on earth.   One Million Dollars   Description: Description: US Debt   $1,000,000 - Not as big of a pile as you thought, huh? Still this is 92 years of work for the average human on earth.   One Hundred Million Dollars   Description: Description: US Debt   $100,000,000 - Plenty to go around for everyone. Fits nicely on an ISO / Military standard sized pallet.   One Billion Dollars   Description: Description: US Debt   $1,000,000,000 - You will need some help when robbing the bank. Now we are getting serious!   One Trillion Dollars   Description: Description: US Debt   $1,000,000,000,000   When the US government speaks about a 1.7 trillion deficit - this is the volumes of cash the U.S. Government borrowed in 2010 to run itself.   Keep in mind it is double stacked pallets of $100 million dollars each, full of $100 dollar bills. You are going to need a lot of trucks to freight this around.   If you spent $1 million a day since Jesus was born, you would have not spent $1 trillion by now...but ~$700 billion - same amount the banks got during bailout.   One Trillion Dollars   Description: Description: US   Comparison of $1,000,000,000,000 dollars to a standard-sized American Football field and European Football field.   Say hello to the Boeing 747-400 transcontinental airliner that's hiding on the right. This was until recently the biggest passenger plane in the world.   15 Trillion Dollars   Description: Description: US   $15,000,000,000,000 - US national debt (credit bill) has just topped the 15 trillion 2 months before Christmas 2011.   Statue of Liberty seems rather worried as United States national debt passes 20% of the entire world's combined GDP (Gross Domestic Product). In 2011 the National Debt will exceed 100% of GDP, and venture into the 100%+ debt-to-GDP ratio that the European PIIGS have (bankrupting nations).   114.5 Trillion Dollars   Description: Description: US   $114,500,000,000,000. - US unfunded liabilities   To the right you can see the pillar of cold hard $100 bills that dwarfs the WTC & Empire State Building - both at one point world's tallest buildings. If you look carefully you can see the Statue of Liberty.   The 114.5 Trillion dollar super-skyscraper is the amount of money the U.S. Government knows it does not have to fully fund the Medicare, Medicare Prescription Drug Program, Social Security, Military and civil servant pensions. It is the money USA knows it will not have to pay all its bills.

  • Remember the Starfish......
I think that ultimately it goes much farther than that. Lets look at just the paper currency itself, it has printed right on it "this note is legal tender for all debts pulbic and private". REALLY. Have you tried to buy much with cash lately? Most places do not take "cash" anymore. Almost no gas station/ convenience store takes $50 or hundred dollar bills. Try paying your local taxes with cash. Try renting a motel room or car with cash. They want PLASTIC, because they want it to be electronic, instant transfer, with strings attached. Most of those in positions of authority would love to eliminate cash altogether. If everything was electronic they could simply eliminate it with a touch of a button, all of your assets gone, or frozen instantly. Even gold or silver can be made illegal and traced, and it is virtually impossible to have any amount of cash, even paper, if the cops stop you they can LEGALLY confiscate it if you have over 10K and you have to prove how you got it to get it back. Where is the burden of proof there? This is about the ease and totality of control over the general public. If electronic transfer were stopped overnight, how many would be hungry and immobilized within 48 hours??

I still accept all paper money for proper disposal.  However, shipping must be prepaid.
