Old media
« on: March 06, 2012, 04:31:29 AM »
I just realized that I haven't handled a news paper or listened to the radio or watched television for years. That doesn't mean I don't read news or watch videos or listen to audio, but it does mean that I get them from other sources at practically no cost via internet.

I wonder how much longer it will be before there is a societal shift away from these old ways.

I heard some public radio recently and it sounded so old and distant, like it was from the 1930s, although it was a live or recently recorded broadcast.

The local news paper is almost ready to shut down.  Circulation is down to almost nothing.  The main reason is that it is a very redical left leaning rag.  they refuse to print any of my letters to the editor unless I edit them or let them edit them.  Except for liberals they have no customers.
Where is old Joe when we really need him?  Alaska Independence    Calling Illegal Immigrants "Undocumented Aliens" is like calling Drug Dealers "Unlicensed Pharmacists"
What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

I often get calls and am asked if I would like to get a News Paper.
I answer I would love to have a news paper.
They then tell me about the specials that the San Francisco Chronicle has.
I say I thought you said news paper.  The SF Chronicle is not a news paper.  It is so filled with lies and filth that I would not wrap fish in it.

They then ask if I just want it for the cupon section and give me a quote about 1/2 of the rates they gave before.
I say no thank you and usually am told that I am not the only one that has said the same thing about the SF Chronicle.
