help pick new henry

I'm going to buy a new henry but which one  the 30/30 or the 44mag
I reload for both

.44 mag would go really well with a Blackhawk of the same caliber. Just sayin'...

The 44 Mag is cheaper to reload and matches well a 44 Mag pistol as stated by someone earlier. I love mine. I would not mind a 30-30 though.  :)

with normal and reasonable loads both have similar effective range, the .44 will have slightly lower recoil, the .44 with a larger bullet penetrates more readily (though on deer the 30-30 is capable of pass throughs) so it really comes down to personal preference.  For me the .44 Mag would be top pick based mostly on bullet diameter.  big bullets make big holes (on both sides)

  If i was going to hunt with it, i'd pick the 30-30 every time...

 ???  For hunting the 30-30 is the easy choice for me, especially for big game.   It is effective at much longer ranges than the 44MAG would be.   I'd opt for the octagon barrel, steel for hunting, brass otherwise.
 
If your hunting is at shorter ranges the 44 could be a good choice if you also have a 44 handgun to back it up though, and can stand the gaudy engraving.   
"Deluxe" doesn't fit for me on a saddle carbine after growing up on a ranch with all the old Winchesters and a couple of real Henry's.   They were tools... reliable work guns, not foofarraw or gewgaws.   :o   

(I still have my first '94 made in the war years, kilt my first mule deer with it in '54-'55).

I haven't recieved my 357 BB yet but i would guess the one you reload the most for currently would be one way to choose.
