Sorry, I usually back LEOs, but not in this case. If the 'resisting' is being done by a drug dealer or carjacker for instance, who was caught in trhe act..then a further charge is warranted.
However, we must weigh just how important it is to catch a drug dealer in the middle of the night. Can't we get enough proof so we can arrest him in a normal manner..Is it worth endangering and possibly killing a totally innocent person and or their family....such as nearly happened to William and did happen in Powderman's area. Waco had a way of waking the sleeping ones to outrageous abuse. Ruby Ridge was another case where a govt 'sharpshooter' who boasted about "hitting a quarter at 200 yards" .. just happened to shoot and kill a woman holding her child.
I don't think any middle-of-the-night raid is worth it unless it is a case of immediate defense of others..such as a mad sniper taking shots at innocents is worth the possible killing of innocent families.
The castle doctrine should be enacted nationwide, with unannounced, raiding police not excluded.
That being said, since most raids seeem to be on dope peddlars..we have our neighborhood dope addicts to thank for the raids which have killed innocents.
