44Mag safety issue

Will a 44Mag barrel fit and be safe for an older Topper Jr. 490 receiver according to the serial number it was made in 1975 (ANXXXXX) I'm not familiar with the older H&R rifles and shotguns.

I suspect it would work fine as long as you don't have primer issues due to the larger firing pin and surrounding hole in the standing breech.
