I will have to wait a bit..and observe...
It was only a couple weeks ago that Alex Jones was all fired up; accusing Fox News of double-crossing and firing judge Napolitano..running him off unceremoniously.
Some took it hook. line & sinker...but then, the judge has been on Fox regularly, as his usual happy, bubbling self.  this situation considered, I'm sure you will understand my "wait & see" stance.

Even if it is legit, it won't go anywhere, because the House won't push it for two reasons: the news media would use it to bludgeon the Republicans in this campaign and everyone knows that the Senate would not convict under any circumstance.

The “bill” in Congress is merely a “resolution” to test the “sense of Congress.” It is not a true bill which may become a law or involve actual impeachment. Finally, there is no way this will lead to impeachment any more than any previous President was impeached for waging war without a declaration from Congress. The executive powers and emergency powers of the President have been expanded since FDR specifically to avoid this pesky bump in the Constitutional process.
The claim that “Article I, Section 8, of the Constitution reserves for Congress alone the power to declare war,” and the Resolution’s claim of Congress’ “exclusive power to declare war” are, since FDR, total legal delusions. In reality, they have been delusions since the Constitution was written.
If any legislator intends to make real change here, they will first have to address the nature of the Constitutional construction, the National Emergency Act, and the War Powers Resolution for starters. Without touching these, any move to impeach any president for military action outside of a declaration of war is a dream.

That was an excellent description of what happens when the citizens are complacent and let the government expand unchecked. It also acknowledges that there is a difference between what the Constitution says, and how its been handled since shortly after the ink dried.

Of course neither of those observations in any way shape or form negate the value of what the Constitution actually says, nor undermines it truly as THE legal document it is. We are still a Constitutional Republic en fact, whether we like it or not. I will continue to cling to my dream that as long as the document exists, there is a chance we can scrape off the layers of "opinion" that have cluttered it up.
