State police Lt. Brian Bowling says state troopers, Frankfort police officers and sheriff's deputies will be present Saturday for the National Socialist Movement's planned march from Todd Street to the Capitol steps, where the rally is scheduled to be held.
The city and state have issued permits for an estimated 200 demonstrators from the Detroit-based group, which has promoted the rally on its website.
Counter-demonstrators from the Fairness Campaign, the Kentucky Alliance Against Racial and Political Oppression and other groups also have said they'll be there.
Gov. Steve Beshear called the group's ideology reprehensible to Kentuckians, but said in a statement the state would respect the group's rights to peaceable assembly and free speech.
