Ive bought (traded for) two glocks in the last 2 weeks. Shot the snot out of them and have come to like them. My buddy came down to vist yesterday and brought a bunch of guns to shoot. One was a 10mm glock. We were busting rocks at about a 100 yards and it was like a lazer on them. Well i had to have it. Ive got a FA 475 that has been collecting dust. Ive got another 475 linebaugh built gun that seems to go to the range every time i want to shoot a 475 and the FA is neglected. We struck up a deal. He took home the 475 and i got the glock and my old 696 smith 44 specail back. I traded it off to him a couple years ago and its probably the regretted trade i ever made. Im more happy to have it back home then anything. It was a nice light handy gun that drove nails. Probably my favorite wheelgun of all time. I dont know how the monetary value of the trade plays out but in my opinion to trade one gun thats barely used for two ill use all the time isnt a  bad deal no matter what.

ya looking at gun prices it was a pretty close trade money wize. the 696s bring some prettty good money these days if you can even find one. Only thing that sucks is that when i bought that 696 intitaly i got it from a gunshop that didnt have a clue it was worth a premium and i payed 350 bucks for it and if it had been shoot it sure didnt show it. Now i see examples that arent as clean as this one go for upwards of a grand.

Sounds right to me Lloyd..it was between friends. Sometimes you just can't count dollars to dollars on a trade.  A couple years ago I traded a Pedersoli JP Gemmer with vernier sights that had a monetary value of over 2 grand. (sights were over 600) to a good friend that just had to have one. He kept talkin about that rifle for a couple years and was always askin what I'd take for it. I finally told him I'd never sell it to him but if he would bring me a couple pistols I had my eye on I'd just trade him. (they were about 1200 for the two) two weeks later he showed up at my place with them pistolas. All the way from N. Dakota (I live in Washington state).....it was a good trade..I'm sorry to say we lost him a couple months ago, he was my good friend, a helluva horseman, and a man of his word..I miss him greatly..
