Drury-Mincy Managed Hunt 2,011
« on: September 04, 2011, 02:59:22 PM »
Anyone else get drawn for the Drury-Mincy Managed Muzzleloader Hunt? Both my son and I, plus a friend, got drawn this year. We missed out the last 3 years so we're pretty excited. This will make our 4th time hunting the managed hunt. I live just 30 minutes from there and my son and I archery hunt there often and have a pretty good knowledge of where the best hunting is. When you get 250 people running around in there it's pretty much pot luck though. lol However we do have a few honey holes that few know about or even stumble across. We're realy looking forward to a great time, swapping yarns with other hunters and comparing muzzleloaders. If anyone else here was drawn just let me know and maybe we can share some coffee and a campfire. :)

Myself and wifey applied but the results aren't susposed to come out until 9/12 according to MDC. Have you got an inside line or something? :)  I'd really like to know the result. Thanks!

That is when they post the results on line but if you're drawn you usualy get the notification in the mail by now. It consists of the notification and regulations on one side and a map of the area on the other. You then buy your Managed Hunt Tag using the number of the hunt you're drawn for. If you were drawn you should have gotten the notifications in the mail by now but there is a slight chance you still might recieve them. If not drawn this year you'll get an extra chance in the drawing each year untill you are drawn. Wishing you luck.

Sorry to hear you didn't get drawn. My son and I missed out the last three or four years. If you ever decide to bow hunt there just give me a heads up. Maybe we can meet and I'll show you some of the best spots to hunt. My son and I are planning on hunting there Thursday evening if we don't get a deer here on our own property Thursday morning. I'd love to meet you. As I get older I'm losing too many friends along the way. Never hurts to make new ones. :)

I dearly love to turkey hunt both in the fall and spring. Unfortunately wifey is going back to school working on her degree and this ties up my transportation this fall.

Perhaps a spring hunt could happen if everything works out. I would dearly love to give a go!

That would be cool bud. Some of the best turkey hunting in all Missouri to be had there. :)

Well, it's only a few days away. My son and I have our gear ready and plans made. We'll be setting up camp early Friday morning and spending the rest of the day scouting our favorite spots. We are truly looking forward to visiting with other hunters and having fun hunting. :)

Hey  Spirithawk,  how  did  the hunt  go ?

My son killed a 90lb doe the first day. I killed a nice buck but had it stolen on me when I went to get help to get it out. Saw quite a few deer and had a great time. :)

Thanks, where did you hunt? We saw a lot of turkeys too. Love turkey hunting there but it gets a lot of pressure.
