Sidekick Trigger Too Light

I checked out a really nice NEF Sidekick nickel/stainless muzzle loader at my local gun shop. But the trigger pull weight is way too light. If I had to guess it's somewhere between 1-2 pounds. Whatever the trigger pull weighs, IMO it wouldn't be a good idea to hunt deer with it during our winter season.

Could this trigger have come this way from the factory, or has anyone else run into a trigger that was too light?
Would H&R fix the trigger issue if it were sent in to them?
I didn't find any parts for it on the Numrich website except for a replacement breech plug.
Could parts from another model be used to fix it, or would sending it to H&R be the best way to fix it?
It's a really nice looking gun but the trigger issue is a real turn-off especially considering the extra cost to have it fixed.

The Sidekick uses the same internal frame parts as other modern H&Rs, the frame is just shorter, H&R would gladly restore it, or you could do the same by replacing the Hammer and/or trigger, complete instructions can be found in the FAQs for this, repair by H&R is covered on their website.

I didn't realize that H&R handles their repairs through authorized regional service centers.

It sounds like someone altered the trigger, doesn't it?
I've felt plenty of H&R triggers before but never one that was this light.

If it was mine, I'd contact Brian by PM and get his advice..... if you don't want to do the work yourself that is.

The Sidekick/Huntsman triggers have always been better than the center fire and shotgun triggers IMO. They are generally around 3# with no creep or grit. Someone might have tried to lighten that trigger, but a new hammer and trigger should put it back to normal.

I was thinking at one time my trigger was too light on my Huntsman. I than realized that this trigger is probably the way a trigger should feel being that many of my triggers are pretty crude on most of my centerfire rifles!

I really appreciate the smoothness of my Huntsman trigger. It actually surprises me a bit when the firearm discharges despite the fact that that I am on target. I now know why this gun is so accurate. It has a great trigger!

My Sidekick trigger is so smooth and lite I switch it out with my USH when needed.

Sounds like you got lucky, most everyone else wishes theirs was lighter.
