Guys,
I don't think that this has much to do with the political situation. Several years ago, Walmart decided that the great majority of its stores would no longer sell firearms. This included their huge superstores.
This decision was reversed last year, with the starting date for selling firearms being January 1 of this year for most stores.
Consequently, Walmart placed orders with Remington, Ruger, Marlin and Savage for huge numbers of rifles and shotguns, all for quick delivery with tight deadlines. As a result, these manufacturers have put all other orders on hold, from other stores and distributors large and small, and are busily cranking out these huge orders.
I know of two small gunstores in central Virginia, who have not been able to get any of these firearms through distributors since January. The small shops, with their small orders, are absolutly last on anyone's list.
Best, Mannyrock
