Ruger suspends new orders!!
« on: March 23, 2012, 03:47:20 AM »
Not sure if I should post this here, or in the political column. Just read where Ruger has suspended new orders for guns, untill they catch-up with the existing ones. They have orders for 1,000,000 units(guns) in the first quarter this year, and havn't filled then all. So their holding off on new orders until May, according to their figures, until they have caught up. Thank you Obama. S&W stocks are up like 12% also. HMMM, is there a pattern here? ;) gypsyman

Here is a link to the story.

I know the store where I bought my SR1911 can't get in but one at a time.  Sportsman's and Fred Myers can't get any.
Where is old Joe when we really need him?  Alaska Independence    Calling Illegal Immigrants "Undocumented Aliens" is like calling Drug Dealers "Unlicensed Pharmacists"
What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

Guns and ammo are the only industries Obama has stimulated, also prep foods.  My food costs went up 25% in one year.  Some is due to inflation, some due to the mandate for ethynol in gas.  Ethynol takes corn normally fed to stock animals and chickens and makes fuel.  This net result is higher fuel AND higher meat costs.  Like Ronald Reagan said, "Government is not the solution, government is the problem".

  Guys,

I don't think that this has much to do with the political situation.   Several years ago, Walmart decided that the great majority of its stores would no longer sell firearms.  This included their huge superstores.

This decision was reversed last year, with the starting date for selling firearms being January 1 of this year for most stores.

Consequently, Walmart placed orders with Remington, Ruger, Marlin and Savage for huge numbers of rifles and shotguns, all for quick delivery with tight deadlines.  As a result, these manufacturers have put all other orders on hold, from other stores and distributors large and small, and are busily cranking out these huge orders.

I know of two small gunstores in central Virginia, who have not been able to get any of these firearms through distributors since January.  The small shops, with their small orders, are absolutly last on anyone's list.

   Best, Mannyrock

Walmart knew the election was coming up and they also had a lot of complants.  Lost a lot of hunting business.  They also now have to compete with Academy sports and Dick's which have popped up all over.  Walmart is the poor man's doomsday prep store.  Walmart can't be just the only buyer, ammo is in short supply sometimes at Academy, also from Cabela's and Bass Pro.  I've been to a few gun shows and stuff is skippy and high.  Also, guns and ammo sales haven't gone down at all with the economy and has been increasing every year.
