Cocaine, mnarijuana, booze, synthetic marijuana, crack, ...all that crap is just a crutch for weaklings.  Anyone with strong character traits, eschews all of them.
that's right.

So tell me again why you are so concerned about the "things'"?  ???

How about, "People don't kill people...guns kill people!"? ::)

I'll state my opinion and then drop it.
remember, this is MY opinion.
If mind altering drugs are made legal and therefore easier to obtain by our youth, it is another battle won by satan.

This should be interesting then! ::)

Bug I've been involved in the "War on Drugs" for most of my adult life, in one way or another. For much of that time I was in agreement with your philosophy of holding them to blame for the grief associated with them.

But reality finally set in! After over thirty years behind the badge I have come to see several  things. First and foremost...."The War on Drugs" will never be won!!!!!!!!!!!! Indeed, it will never even come close to being a fought to a draw! Why? Because it really isn't a war on drugs at all! What we are dealing with is a war on human behavior and human failings. It doesn't matter one iota what things you outlaw in an attempt to stop use of things, humans will always find a way to feed their weaknesses and desires....whether those are drugs, or booze, or guns.

<sigh> Now we get to the really tough part....Western civilization and how we deal with certain things!

Western ideology has always to protect the weakest members of our society. Laudable, Christian thinking.............right? I certainly think so anyway. Unfortunately it has a side affect we don't like to think about..........our weak in charactor, because they are protected by the strong, increase in numbers, and as they increase the volume of their "voice" in society also increases.

If this section of our society is made to face a problem, they do what they are bred to do, take the route of least resistance! Tell them there is a drug problem, instead of dealing with the individuals who are the root of the problem, they try to outlaw the drug....easy peasy........only it doesn't work. Instead it gives their government one more thing to use to control the populace and hold the stronger members of society down too....something the weaker secretly like, because they don't feel good about the existence of strong moral minded people.....makes them feel bad about themselves. But they would rather infringe upon the freedoms of the strong, than deal with the real problem, which is themselves.

Reality check: Everytime you take away the right to make up ones own mind....is a battle won by satan.

It's not the gun........it's the shooter
It's not the booze.....it's the drinker
It's not the drug.......it's the user

Sadly, I see more people falling for the liberal view point all the time......it's easier than facing the real problems.

Recommended reading, "Unintended Consequences". Much better at explaining reality than I can in few short sentences.

R.W.Dale,  excellent post, sir.    You speak truth and wisdom.   I am a Santorum man, happily voted for him in Florida primary.   However, we must all line up and vote against Imam Obama and his agenda for the destruction of this nation.
Imam Obama vs Rev'run Messiah Santorum?!?

I would call them Americans.
Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

How about "drunk drivers kill people..drunks not driving destroy families ?
How about crack addicts rob & kill in convenience stores.. among other places ?
Cocaine ruins families and the individuals involved in them ?

As for the oft heard claim.." the war on drugs wil never be won !"  I hate to hear any professional law officer give up like that..
Where would we have been if medical professionals threw up thjeir hands and said;  " the war on polio will never be won!"  or " the war on tuberculosis will never be won."....or today.." the war on cancer will never be won!"

How about the Marines; had they said; "This fight on Iwo Jima cannot be won!"     Or the Army saying.."this fight for Bastogne can't be won!"  Or by them both; "this fight for Fallujah can't be won!"..

I sure am sure pleased that our medical and military have never been so quick to call it quits !
I should hope not all law enforcement folks are so quick to "toss in the towel'..

  Back to the thread starter;

Goa is uncomfortable with Romney...  NRA is quite comfortable with him...
   http://www.nationalreview.com/campaign-spot/266054/nra-welcomes-romney-leader-deeply-committed-limited-government

Enough already...the enemy we want to root out is OBAMA..remember ?    Obamanites would like to see conservatives going to war among themselves.
Who knows, it could be Obamanites who keep stirring up such arguments ?

If you want to uncover threats to the constitution; let's point out Obama's snakiness.  I suggest you start with Obama's signing the NDAA Act..allowing king Obama to declare martial law and lock US citizens away without contact to the outside or  their friends & family even being told what happened to them.
That is indeed Stalinesque, and it is NOW LAW..by executive order:

Let's concentrate on our real enemy, instead of making 'straw men' of each other !

Too bad fellers.........but it's the truth. Start checking the facts for yourselves!

You really don't get it...we are not fighting a war on drugs.....we are fighting a war against human nature......and we have made it worse by pandering to our lowest common denominator.

How about........"git rid of guns and we will stop crime in it's tracks"?

Same thing.....different object. You just don't want to face that one though, do you?

BTW those deseases mentioned above......we aren't winning, we've just masked a high fever. LOL!!!!!

PS, I haven't given up.......I've just realized that the wrong battle is being fought is all.

PPS, and what's REALLY funny is that you've all tried to duck, dodge, and redirect in defense of a socialistic gun grabber that you believe will save us all!  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I reject that conclusion completely.  Too many people live a happier, normal life without any of those poisonous chemicals being considered necessary.
You try to imprudently drag guns into the discussion.. guns have a use, in fact many uses, and you being a hunter, LEO and possibly ex-military, shouldn't have to be told.
I see no functional purpose for mind addling chemicals, unless prescribed by a doctor..and even then often they are not needed.

BTW: the lowest common denominator is the person who voluntarily consumes the garbage..

That line shows that YOU are STARTING to get an understanding of the real problem. Now work on understanding how many of those there are and how we got so many......then we'll talk some more.

This poor, misled cretan of a woman blames Gingrich, Limbaugh & Santorum for the death of that youngster Traybon, in Florida simply because of some of their words which she twisted...  Then she curses Romney..because he said nothing at all.
Par for the course for PMS-NBC..

Not worth the repercussions;
  http://alcoholism.about.com/od/pot/a/bldea050426_3.htm
that's a very good article.  but the truth of it doesn't stop some people from buying votes of young people through the promise of easy access to drugs.
I take pain killers to be able to function.  but I never drive if I've taken one within 10 hours.
young people don't think about the consequences of drug use.
when a young person dies from drugs or alcohol in a wreck, their friends show up with flowers and teddy bears to pile beside the road and they cry and blubber and then go and do the same thing.
we should never stop trying to protect our youth and not lay out a smorgasbord of dope for them.

Sorry IG, that was a repost from earlier in this thread...and not a reliable source.(looks like it might actually be a reprint from yet another source. See a lot of that with the liberal Mommy staters)
