« on: June 13, 2011, 07:22:19 AM »
Hi,
Anybody have any first hand reviews of the 77 in .204??
I'm a-lookin' at one now and wondered what folks were finding for accuracy.
Thanks!

I'm a bit late pitching in here, but... I got one of the Hawkeye 204s some time ago and love it.  The trigger's good, rifle has nice, slim lines, the caliber is easy to load for, is accurate as all get out, it's fun to see the impact thru the scope.  Properly placed, it WILL make an 80# feral hog's eyes bug out (Would not have been my weapon of choice at the time, but it was what I had, so...)

Great, cuz I've saved up and am ready to order but my preferred dealer says he wouldn't get one in until late Dec.   ???

I looked at a lot of alternatives for a sporter weight gun to walk around with and, while everyone has their own preferences/opinions, I think it's an amazing value; US made, no plastic, mauser type action with crf, real wood/blued, good word about barrels like Dennis says now that Ruger is making them.

Good luck with yours.

Well I sighted mine in ,and to say that I am impressed would be an understatement. At 100 yards ,after ajusting the scope, ;D  I fired 6 rounds (hand loads with Berger 35 grain bullets) and I could have put a nickle over all 6 shots. I like the trigger, and found the gun extremely comfortable to shoot. I just plain love the thing. I guess if I had one compaint ,it would be to make the saftey lever alittle bigger.

I won a Ruger Hawkeye Predator in .204 at my SCI banquet. The gun shop that ran the raffle can't find a .204 Predator at any of the distributors? What the hell is this all about?

Are they that much in demand?

Ruger is probably diverting all their resources into making AR-15s--1911s--Minis and SR9/40s exclusively until after the election.
