Bullseye - You LUCKY. I believe you're the first one I've seen to get MOA
accuracy OTB with a 25-06 barrel! Mine got about what Wildwilly is getting
with his 22-250 until I discovered the chamber was reamed .005 too deep
and with a .003 gap between barrel & frame, the case was doin' a lot of
bouncing around after the firing pin hit the primer. Then, too, the barrel
was so rough that it grabbed fibers of patches and wouldn't let them go!!!
Remedy - wildcat 270 cartridges to fit, and Flitz the heck out of the bore to
get 3/4" groups @ 100 yds.
Wildwilly - No, the Flitz isn't too abrasive, but ya need to protect your
chamber (I used an old case with a drilled out primer pocket). Just go
one way through the barrel from the chamber end for 100 strokes. Wet
a patch with Flitz and shove that patch through 5 times, wet another
patch & repeat, 'til you've done a hundred strokes. Shooting a few
hundred rounds through the barrel will get ya the same results, but it's
a lot more fun to hit what ya aim at during those few hundred rounds!
Make sure ya clean all the Flitz out of the barrel and whatever may
have seeped back into the chamber neck prior to firing.
You will also need to get proper clearance on that forearm. Both VVCG
and Bulberry make a lot better hanger/forearm system than the
forearm that came on the rifle.
