Got a couple of miniture blueberry bushes today...

I received 2 dwarfnorthern blueberry bushes today.  I already have 4 of them but figured a couple more would be nice.  I ordered them from Gurney's.  I wouldn't really call them bushes since they are only about 12" high.  But I was surprised how many blossoms they had.  I pinched most of them off.  So now I'll have to wait until it warms up a bit to plant them.  I'd hate to shock the little buggers.  I was surprised that they had a lot more blossoms than leaves.

I forget what mine are (other than free for the digging) but the blossoms emerged before the leaves on one, and the other had full leaf coverage before it bloomed.

Yup blooms first then leaves on most. Some seem to begin leafing at same time or even a bit sooner but the norm is blooms then leaves. Don't forget to use plenty of peat moss in the holes.

My berries are alread of nice size but still green. We'll open to pickers most likely around June 15.

  I love BB's, it's one of my most favorite fruits...  They grow a LOT of BB's around here, they are ripe in July,
 

 

 

 
  I always make some pies, freezeing them to eat in the winter, and i freeze some berries too...
