Dan Wesson Model 9
« on: August 17, 2012, 10:42:59 AM »
So I'm cruising thru one of my local shops and notice a nice looking DW 357. Tag says model 9. What is the difference between a model 9 and a 15? This one is in fair shape, pretty tight, recessed chambers, 8" vented barrel, Monson mfg., serial # somewhere near 346xxx. I'm thinking of going back to try and deal on this, but haven't seen any model 9s to know what is different. Any help out there?

Thanks

Does it have an adjustable sight on the rear? Does it have a recessed barrel nut? I thought only the real early DW from when they were made in the High Standard factory had an exposed barrel nut, but, I could be wrong. gypsyman
We keep trying peace, it usually doesn't work!!Remember(12/7/41)(9/11/01) gypsyman

Turns out it was a mis-marked 15-2. It is a 357, and boy does it shoot nice. Haggled them down to 320 out the door. Now I just have to work up some loads for it. I already made a patridge front sight for it. It should be a nice one to use for deer from the blind out behind the barn.
