Who makes Cabela's pistols? I e-mailed them and they would not say. Only that they were made in Italy.

Depends on the particular gun.  Most of their percussion revolvers are Piettas.  The Remington Revolving Rifle is an Uberti.  Some single shots are Pedersoli.

I asked them about their scopes a couple of years ago, and what I got back was that the Alaskan Guide scopes were made in Japan, and the Pine Ridge were made in China. This was important to me because I try to avoid buying ANYTHING made in China. I say try, because it's impossible at times to know where it's made until you get it home. But . . . I can try.

I wuz amazed at how much cowboy/western gear is made by them murderin' Commies.

Good luck. Hope this helps. :cb2:

It's amazing how much EVERYTHING is made by them murderin' Commies. :x  :x   There isn't much that gets my goat more than ordering something cool online and upon inspecting it at home, to find that dreaded "made in China" sticker.  I always destroy those markings and hope that nobody will notice that they were there.  It's pretty tough, though to find stuff that doesn't have that blemish.  Pisses me off.... :x  :x

Don't just bellyache about the "made in China" labels, send a letter to your congressmen, senators, and President Bush.  If enough of us complain about it, plus the moving of American jobs overseas (NAFTA, et al), our "leaders" may decide to make some changes.

If you want to strike back at the new "evil empire" in even a small way, feel free to buy products that say "Made in Taiwan."  After all, Taiwan is a huge thorn in the side of Red China.
