quality issue question for brian56*updated*again
« on: January 23, 2012, 01:23:11 PM »
i bought a 243 new in box and when i got it home i noticed the scope mount was WAY off center. it seems  to have drilled and tapped that way. what can i do about this?

Ok, sent gun to be repaired under warranty. they said they were going to fit a new barrel, but i got it back yesterda and they redrilled and retapped the old barrel and its still not level. so much so that it could be seen as soon as it was taken out of the box. I called them back and now i have to ship it back to them again so they can do who knows what this time. at first i thought it was just my eyes, but after trying a square and then some leveling and then a second person look at it, i knew it wasnt just me. round 2!!

+1, be sure to ask for a return shipping label to cover shipping, or return it to the dealer for him to handle.

Repair center must have given the first return to an apprentice (I sure hope he's an apprentice!)..............did you have anything on the return tag to indicate who worked on it?

Boy when brian says he'll take care of ya  he REALLY does. got the 243 back and he not only fitted a new barrel to it, but didnt like the finish on the new barrel OR reciever and had them both refinished, Brian, great job , thanks and i couldnt be happier. With you in charge of QC, remington will be hard to beat. Thanks again
