Romanian PSL
« on: April 09, 2012, 01:09:00 PM »
Hi guys, haven't been on here in forever!  School will suck the life out of you!

Anywho, I just got a Romanian PSL, and it's a hoot!  Plus I got it in near-new condition, maybe 100 rounds through it.

However, the bolt face has a ring around it, it looks like someone shot some bad ammo through it and some flame cutting took place.  What countries surplus had this problem, so I can avoid them to prevent further damage? I only shoot russian and romanian (home to to the PSL). Thanks!  Justin.

After you get done shooting and start cleaning, use a liberal amount of soap and water on the bolt face, as well as the bore, gas tube and op-rod. I had the same problem with mine with a dark ring starting and realized the primers are corrosive and hadn't been properly cleaning the bolt face. After that it still had the ring, but no further evidence of deepening.
