Johnny and Gerald Stewart ARE pros, and they use their own e-callers.  I would say to use the jack rabbit or cotton tail distress.  That's always worked the best for me with hand calls.  However, you should note that coyotes are starting to den or pair up, and may not respond well to distress sounds.  I've read that coyote vocalizations do real well this time of year, either by getting a "mate" fired up or making a male think you are intruding into his territory.  I'm not real familiar with this technique though.  There are several good predator calling websites out there, but I'm not sure the Admin will allow posting them here.  If you want to chat more about calling coyotes, I'd be glad to tell you what I can via email at dtwiebe@yahoo.com.  Good luck!  Once you get started in the game of predator calling, you'll find that you just can't stop!  Kinda like shootin' pigs...

Hi the coyotes will come to a distress it just takes them longer the female has to eat because she has to put fat on getting readly for the pups and it will take longer for them to show up this time of the yr if you call one coyote in you better look around because there is another one some where close by there r some great tape sounds out here r a few  i have great luck using they r Johnny Stewart tapes CT

101d Super Jack
116c Yellowhammer wood pecker
155b whitetail fawn cries
124a young domestic pic
105 rodent sqeuals
101g Vittles A'LA Jackrabbit
166  coyote/ gray fox fight
112a chicken in distress
they have work great and i TRY to stay away from a cottontail rabbit in distess because EVERY body and there brother use the sound so i dont use it go with a Superjack tape or a jackrabbit in distress i live in ARK and there isnt a Jackrabbit for 300 miles BUT the coyotes like the sound try this get you a blank tape copy 3 to 5 diff sounds on it  and try it and it will save you from changing tapes  and moving alot i like to sit about 30 to 40 min. in one spot if there cats in the area try and see if it will work for you let me know how you do VM
