How do you think the supreme court will rule on Obamacare?

I'm not optimistic. After Kelo vs New London, when the concept of private property rights went away, I lost faith. That was one of the biggest cases ever and it just proved that if you have enough money and you want something, you can have it, and the law is on your side, not the property owner.


About the obamacare funding mechanism...

I think they can plausibly conclude that it is a tax and that the interstate commerce argument is BS and that they are sick and tired of the government using that argument for every stinkin thing they want to do. But as for constitutionality of the funding mechanism, I just don't know. It could definitely go either way. If they let it stand, it may be technically right, but wrong in every other way.


If the argument is that the current system of third party payers is flawed and leads to perverse incentives, turning it into a system where a third party pays another third party is only going to make things worse.


I have a long list of anecdotes from people I know in Canada and Sweden. Bottom line is that socialized medicine is about killing off old people. If you have any gray hair, you will probably suffer in a system like that.

I think it gets shot down 5-4.   Kennedy asked Obama's yes-man too many tough questions that he was unable to answer consistently.

All they had to do was buy off one and they have him. If not it would never have gone to court.
This will give the illegal vote by the clown and his ilk, a legitimate look.

I think you should read the news a bit more closely.     The ACA is a product of Obama, not Romney.   Get your facts straight......

The template of Obamacare came straight from Romneycare.....that's a well known, and much discussed fact, both here and in the news media, back when the liar in chief was promoting it.      Get your own facts straight. ::)

In the long run, I'm not sure it matters how the Supreme Court rules.  Our system of health care is changing in spite of governmental interference and sometimes for the worse because of it.  Obamacare is unsustainable and will have to be modified even if it is upheld by the court. 
 
Conan is right that the larger question is whether the federal government will be able to continue using the commerce clause to justify everything and anything under the sun.
