Looking for FA front sights
« on: December 07, 2010, 05:20:05 PM »
Looking for front sights for my FA83 454,    I have all four 45 cylinders made for the 454 but need some taller front sights.   I have the srew type FA hooded front sight but just do not like it
thanks for any help

Ken O'Neill used to sell some, you can find him here on the forums.  Another source is David Clements.  He can make them any height you want and can thin them to 0.10 if you want him to when he makes them.  I think his turnaround time is pretty quick.  There are two options...hows that :)  There is always the option of calling FA also and getting different heights.  GS

Send me a PM on what heights you have, and what you think you need, as well as your barrel length. Since you have the adjustable hooded front sight, are you also using the Silhouette rear? The standard rear sight is about .100" lower, and uses a correspondingly lower front sight.

dave clements makes some nice partrige type replacement blades for freedom arms guns and will make them to any height. I usually just get a tall one and file it to the height i want. His sights will give you a much better sight picture then the standard ramp style sight.

IMHO every reloader and FA shooter needs to have a set of Ken O'Neill's sight blades in his range bag..  They can really come in handy when you are trying to get that new bullet and load on paper...
