Nikon Pro-staff scopes
« on: December 13, 2003, 05:35:15 PM »
Does anyone out there have any experience/opinions with the Nikon pro-staff series of scopes?  I have several Nikon Monarch scopes but have not seen the pro staff models.  How do they compare?  I wonder what the big differences are between the two scope series?  Thanks!

The major difference is the lens quality and coatings.  I would put it in the same class as the Bushnell Trophy with slightly better clarity and brightness.  Actually they are a pretty good scope for the money.

Jon,

Would you rate the Nikon Pro-Staff scopes the same or better in quality compared to a Weaver K-4?  I have one of those and the comparison would be helpful.  How good is the adjustment system for the Nikon Pro-Staff scopes?  Thanks Jon!

From what I have read, the Pro-Staff series are rimfire scopes. Check their website.

scienceguy,

That is a tough one.  I think they are really close with maybe a slight edge to the Weaver.  But you are comparing a fixed to a variable.  The tracking system is the same as the Buckmaster and they see to hold very well.  No the ProStaff are not just rimfire.  Actually they make a rimfire, shotgun and rifle models.
