Is the superlight barrel the same thing or contour as the Talo barrel?  I was under the impression that the Talo barrel is 18" long.  Can anyone explain the differences, or are they the same thing except for the length, or am I also wrong about the length?

  The Talo is a standard contour barrel that measures 18" and some change. The Superlights are all 20" long and much lighter. The contour is so much smaller that the youth forend is the only one that looks right on it.

John, I can't tell you about the .223 Superlight, but Patty and I each have a 7mm-08 Superlight.  (thank you again, Brian)  I like mine so much I'm thinking about swapping out my standard .223 for a SL.

For availability you'd have to PM Brian56 or call H&R and give them the actual part number from the New Acc Barrel sticky, it's never been listed on the acc barrel web page.

EDIT: On my 70lb digital postal scale, the 20" barrel weighs 2lbs-10½oz, the standard 22" 7mm-08 barrel weights 3lbs-8½oz
