Good place to buy shot ?

I am brand new to shotshell reloading my equipment should be here on Monday and I have found this to be a great place for info. What I have found out by running my #'s is that shot is going to be where the bulk of the price that loading shotshells wil be. I'm looking for the best place to buy quality & price I no there are a couple of different manufactures. Which is better and why? And is there someone out there that makes good shot and sells it. I will be loading #7, 7.5 & #8. I sure would appreciate any help anyone can give!

I just scored 17 25 lb bags off craigslist at $25 a bag. He had 7.5 and 8's. I got all the 8s he had.
 
Do a search of reloading on craigslist and good luck.

Ballistic Products has special deals now and then on shot and shipping. Get on their email list and watch the specials.

They also offer flat rate shipping, so if you are buying shot, get 50# at a time because the shipping for 50# is the same as for 25#. You have to call them for flat rate shipping, and mention flat rate shipping or any specials when you call. If you don't specifically mention it you wont get it.  Weird policy but that is how they do it.

I know this is a thread from the dead, but since it's still on the first page of threads I'll go ahead.  Some loyal reader looking for this might find this info helpful.
 
Recob's Target Shop http://www.recobstargetshop.com/ is a family owned/family run business that offers truly great service.  They ship two bags of shot (50-lbs) via USPS Flat Rate which is only $13 and change.  Their prices are as low as anyones, and I say support the small business owner.  They offer Lawrence Brand of chilled (soft) shot and magnum (hard) shot for almost the exact same price.
 
Check out shot prices at Midway or other Big Box sources and you'll see Recob's has them beat.  Midway is at least $10 per bag more expensive.  I liked to see little guys win!

There are no good places to order shot. Shipping cost is prohibitive. You need to buy locally. Surely some gun shop carries shot if so buy it there. If there is a skeet or trap range locally most likely they buy shot for members and guests regularly when they order their targets. Generally there is no shipping charge on such as a truck directly delivers it all. Plus they usually get discounted prices.

I noticed in the new flyer that Midway sent me yesterday they are wanting $50+ a bag delivered. I don't know what it is selling for lately as I've not bought any for awhile now but it was only around $30 last time I bought.

Here in SoCal the cheapest I have found is $36 as of last week.
 
Kicking myself there was a add on CL about 3 yrs ago guy had 10,000 lbs of reclaimed $10 a bag if you bought 1000lbs I didn't.

It's out there for a good price. I just got 10 bags of #9 Magnmun for $32.50 a bags. The place I got it said the next time they get it....it will be going up. The club just got a shipment in and they are is asking $34.50 a bag. Also our clay targets went up over 40% this year from last year and rounds are going from $3.50 to $4. Some say becuase of fuel cost/prices. I know I ride my bicycle to work because gas is over $3.75 a gallon.
