Gun Show
« on: April 29, 2012, 08:40:48 AM »
Yesterday and today the Tanana Valley Sportsman's association, and the UAF Rifle Team are sponsering the biggest gun show in the interior of Alaska.  I went yesterday and most likely will go again today.

Bought a .22mag/20ga Savage 24.  Almost bought a .22LR/20ga as well, but felt one was enough for the day.  Really looking for a .308/12ga, but those are rare and go fast.  Did see a double over and under 30-06.  I know the dealer, I will be checking it out in a month or so if he still has it.

Not a Handi in the entire show.  Only saw two H&R shotguns.  Lots of ARs, but mostly the average bolt and lever guns for hunting.  And about 1/4 old military arms.  Several M1 Garands and M1 Carbines.

Was really surprised by the number of original WWII vintage Colt 1911s.

Saw a Remington Nylon 66, thinking about going back and buying it.  Both my boys cut their shooting teeth on mine.  Know once I no longer need it both are going to want the one I have.  If I buy the second one, in a few years they won't be able to tell them apart, so both will be happy when each one gets one.
Where is old Joe when we really need him?  Alaska Independence    Calling Illegal Immigrants "Undocumented Aliens" is like calling Drug Dealers "Unlicensed Pharmacists"
What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

SOURDOUGH. I've looked for a 22/20 for years. I saw a 24 a while back but it was 22m/ 410. Way too high for my blood, $389. POWDERMAN.  :o :o
