Wobble of AK-47 muzzle slant break?

I have a Yugo Ak-47 with a noticeable wobble of the muzzle slant (break), as though the threads are too loose.  There is a pin that cannot be pushed back enough to unscrew the item.  I found on You Tube that others have the same problem, was at a gun store yesterday and the whole line of Wasr (Rumanian AK's) had most of them with the same wobble.

Is there some kind of reason to have this, does it affect the ballistic properties of the bullet to have a loose item near the muzzle?  The muzzle break on my Mini-14 is rock solid, no wobble, but it is a different design as well.

Most of them are not 100% tight that I have seen. But you are talkin about a gun thats made to shoot people or send a lot of lead so he cann't shoot you, not make one hole groups at 100yds or more. The crown of the barrel is the last place the bullet makes contact with the barrel and the gasses leaving need to be even around the bullet not to push the bullet to one side or the other and the break is uses the gas after the bullet is done with them (for the most part). Most muzzle brakes are "tuned" for muzzle rise or to help hide muzzle flash not to punch nice tight groups on paper.

Chris - you can find that wobble with many makes and style of the AK, they are not made to really exacting specs.  The pin on the front sight base that is suppopsed to lock the muzzle brake in place should drift or push back far enough to get the brake off.  I would not worry about using a punch - the pin had to move fully to the rear at least once to get the brake on, so I would tap it with a punch until it goes back again and then unscrew the brake. 

You will find that you may need to cut a new pin cut into the brake or better, find some very thin washers to space it out and stabalize it.  You can also use the white plumer's tape to tighten up the threads.   I don't think any wobble adversely affects either barrel harmonics or accuracy, as it might actually inhibit the harmonics to the point where the rifle actually shoots better.  After you have tightened things up you can always buy some of those tri-rail mounts (for about $10 @) and they might help thighten things up a bit more....
