Last Sunday a friend of mine shot white tail spike just before dark. We looked for hours with flaslights but didn't find it untill the next morning.
Something had picked the bones clean except for one hind leg. The skin was pulled loose just like it was going to skin it and eat the meat off of it too.
We have seen some big cat tracks and one bob cat was seen.
This carcus was picked clean in an orderly fashion. Not ripped apart and eaten bones and all like a pack of coyotes would do.
One of the neighbors said he saw a moutain lion with some little ones in this area last year.
We are starting to think maybe it was indeed a puma that got this deer.
Any comments please?
