Daisy 3-9 scope

I know I shouldn't be asking this, but has anyone had any good experience with the Daisy 3-9x32 scope? I don't shoot my airgun much, and would like to use the scope that's on it for another gun. I thought the Daisy might be Ok for informal target/pest shooting. Any info anyone has would be appreciated.

I have one of those powerline scopes mounted on my RWS 94. I think its pretty good for the price. I've shot about 1500 shots and its still there. The one thing is you need to clean the screws and app;y some blue loctite

Bad experience for me. Tried to put it on a Winchester 1K.

Troubles that I had:

1) Mounts wouldn't compensate for barrel droop. At max. depression on the elevation knob, the gun still shot about 1 foot low.

2) Couldn't get crosshairs and target images both to be in focus at the same time.

3) Changing the magnification always sent the target image out of focus.

4) Bad target/crosshair parallax, highly dependent on where I looked through the rear lens.

Admittedly, though, I know little about scopes & mounting them. Took it back & got a refund. Have done pretty well with just the open sights on the gun.

Thanks for the insights. Sounds like a hit or miss proposition. I haven't decided whether to get this scope yet, but the price is sure hard to beat.

Maybe a silly question but what kind of air rifle are you wanting to put it on?  If it's a pump or C02 you may not have to much trouble but if it's a magnum powered springer it more than likely won't last you very long.  Magnum powered springers have torn up $1,000 scopes.  Lawdog

It's an RWS 36 in 22 cal. It has a pretty healthy spring in it, so you may be right. At any rate, I've decided not to get the Daisy for now. I find plenty of good used scopes for about that price that are a lot better (just not air rifle scopes). For now the Simmons 4x Pro Air will stay on it. Thanks for the thoughts.
My rule of not buying any Chinese gun-related stuff is still intact!

I just got a Winchester 1000SC.  This is the same as the 1000X except it comes with a scope.  I believe this is the scope that came with it.   I have had some problems but I think it has more to do with the mount. I plan to degrease everything and remount it.

I'll let you know how it works. But that might be awhile since it's too cold to do much srious shooting.

I have the same scope I can't get it sighted in at all. I brought it at wal mart thinking I was getting a great deal $30 3-9x32 scope. It keeps shooting to low. I e-mailed daisy and they said something about putting tape on the scope or something which I didn't understand. I think they just told my anything so they could get rid of me. Can anyone help me?

What they meant was to shim the bottom of the scope at the front mount using plastic tape like electricians use.  If you only have to shim a little it will work but if it is a lot then you will end up twisting your scope and possibly damaging it.  Use adjustable mounts instead.  Lawdog

Sport apture sight

You guys might want to try the williams sport apture sight. It clamps right on the scope dovetails so you cannput it back far enough to be useful. very accurate and adjust its much better than regular iron sghts and more accurate. Give them a try if you can't get a scope to work correctly. cost is only about $55 $60 or so.

It took a bit of work to get it focused but it works fine now.  I personally think it's a good scope.  Changing power from 3 to 9 naturally causes it to have a more limited field of focus - a normal optical thing.  I have used it it from 10 to 125 yards and am quite satisfied with it.  I use lower 3 to 6 power at close range and it's focused clear, I don't use the 7 to 9 power closer than 50 yards.
