Contender Hardware Question

Guys,
I recently purchased a non-G2 contender with the black plastic grips. I bought a walnut grip (with the rubber pad) for it online, and it appears that the grip screw I'm currently using on the plastic grip is too short. Do I need a longer grip screw to use the wooden grips?
I also purchased an octagon forearm, and when I tighten the screw all the way down for this, it still teeters back and forth. Do these octagon forearms need a different length screw? Possibly an additional washer?
Any help in this matter would be appreciated!

Yes to both questions, butt grip screw is 1/4-20 just measure the length and make sure it is not too long or frame will not cock You can add a washer to the forend screw if it is not way too long or just cut or grind some off to shorten it.
the forend screw is 8/32 and you can get all this at a good hardwear store or gun shop.

First thing I'd so is make sure the forend stand-off is tight in the barrel - you can get wobble if not.   Easy enough to stake it to tighten it if loose.   That done here's three easy choices - shorten the existing screw you have, buy a shorter one or shim the forend.   Last option on a single screw mounted forend would be my last pick though unless it was shimmed near full length of the barrel channel.
