H&R Pardner, 20ga full choke with a bushnell scope on it. haven't settled on shells for it yet, I have to pattern it with a few different ones. I could use my Mossberg 500 with screw in choke in 12 ga. but I am getting old I guess and the 12 is just annoying!

This year (starts this Fri.) I'll use my S by S 2 1/2" 410 w/#6 or my single ML 12 bore w/copper plated #4's and 3 drams of 2 F BP. The one I've used the most is a 2 3/4" 12 bore LC Smith Hammer gun bored full and fuller using 3 drams 2F, paper cases and the copper plated #4's. Here in NE WA there are lotsa birds on our place! Also I got drawn for a spring Black Bear permit which also starts Fri. but w/the snow this year it will be mid May before I start hunting (but will have a rifle in the truck during turkey). I don't know which rifle I'll use most for bear but am currently leaning toward a old HVA 7x57 (new Bbl) using mid 1960's 140 gr. Nosler Partitions over I-4350. I use a lot of old or unique bullets for hunting w/the last 4 deer 338 dia 250 Barnes orig (340 Wby., RCBS 375-250 HP (375-06), Speer 250 gr Grand Slam (338-06) and last year a Hornady 175 RN (7x57)from a box I bought in about 1971. The furthest was about 70 yds. all W/one shot. Muddy

I use a H&R Pardner pump turkey. I have a TruGlow Gobbler stopper choke on it and use Winchester Supreme 3" #5 shot. No complainant so far. ;)

I use my bow, a Blacktail Elite VL takedown recurve, 55#, sharp two blade head, carbon arrow, double bull blind, The toms don't always come in close enough for a bow shot but when they do this set up gets the job done.

My first turkey I took with a Winchester 1300 12ga with an extra full choke and hevi shot. I sold that and bought a real tree camo Mossberg 835 and put a BSA red dot on it with a tru glo ported turkey choke and use 3" #5 federals. have used this set up for years. last year i decided to try it with my H&R 20ga TDC with an HS Strut ported turkey choke and took a gobbler at 36 paces

It would be my Savage 93F in .22 mag, except my state doesn't allow a rifle, so I don't hunt turkeys.

Yeah, and you're as full of it as a Christmas Turkey too!

It isn't physically possible for that gun to hold a consistent killing pattern that far. Truth be known it probably won't hold a killing pattern at 40 yds let alone past that.

Probably my Beretta 390 or Pintail if I get a chance to go, although I did pick up an 870 on a trade that looks like it's hardly been shot and I'm thinking of putting a thumbhole stock set on it.

20 year old 835 ulti mag.
Me too,
It is Dad's but it is easier to borrow it from him than drag something across the country.
Dad so far has been uing my Stepmonster's Benelli.
Both of us use 3" Heavy shot #4 loads.
I was really impressed with them.

MC,

I have been wanting to try the Heavy Shot but have not taken the time to pattern it. Up until now, I have used 3.5" Federals and have never had a problem. 3.5" Remingtons on the other hand seem to be problematic. I have had a few FTE's with them and my brother, who has a newer 835, has had problems with them also. The FTE's that I have had, appear to have a swollen brass around the bottom after firing. Never had this with any other brand of ammo. Not sure why, but almost all Remington ammo I have purchased has caused me problems. I kind of shy away from it now.
We screwed up and set the decoys too close to the woods.  We could not get the Tom to come any closer than about 80 Paces and I finally took the shot.  The Heavy shot anchored the bird.  Clearly the heavy shot made up for my lack of hunting.  While they may be a couple bucks a shell but I think they are well worth it.

Same here. I really like the light weight compactness of it. I am heading out in the morning to sight adjust a new front sight and pattern 5 different loads with a new choke I have.
