Scoping the Hakim seems to be an insoluable problem...or so many think.
I think I have it figured out. The hand guard is a one piece of wood that is held in place at the receiver end where it is inserted, by a middle barrel band and front barrel band. You remove the middle and front barrel bands, slide them forward and lift up the hand guard from the muzzle end and pull it forward to remove it from the grooves in the front of the receiver.
Now...make an injection molded one piece handguard, just like the wooden original, but mold in a picatinny rail on the top of it so that an intermediate eye relief (Scout Scope) could be mounted directly to the top of the new handguard. The Picatinny rail would be integral to the handguard.
Anybody have any ideas about this?
