Good deal on Laminated Buttstocks for Encore
« on: January 30, 2004, 08:42:02 AM »
E. Arthur Brown Co. is having a special. Their laminated sets (both pieces) are $99 and they also have the standard walnut T/C buttstock for $59.
I think I paid $125 for mine a month and a half ago, but I had swivel studs installed.
The laminated wood comes in either nutmeg or pepper-gray.
My set is the nutmeg color and they look great. The fit and finish is also outstanding. Lots of grain and lots of layers.

I have been looking at laminated stocks, but my question is how much weight does it add compare to the synthetic stock?

Can't tell you the weight difference, but there is some.  I have both the factory composit stock and eabco laminated stock, I like them both!  If I had to carry the Encore and do a lot of hiking, I chose the composit stock and a 24inch tapered barrel.  My laminated stock is set-up as a varmint rig with a heavy barrel and a Harris bi-pod and unless I can get a gun barrer I will use this rig for either hunting from a stand or off the back of my truck shooting pdogs.

Just my opinion

The EABCO laminated stock/forearm set does weigh a bit more than the stock walnut, but not over an additional pound.
