With  the warm weather in march I started to till up the garden . made about 1/4 of the 26x25 fenced area and the tiller quit  after 4 hour of labor and a $65 part last year I was upset (that is an understatement but I'll keep it family friendly) I thought and figured and scraped and got the money to get a Grillo walk behind tractor with a tiller . I tilled  the winter squash area monday after I got it home 30 x30   area behind the fenced area got a row of taters and 2 rows of assorted acorn squash in before the rain. yesterday I tilled the rest of the fenced area and a new 15x15 area  The new area got 8 tomatoes 8 peppers and a row of onions   the fenced area got 4 rows of beans 4 hills of summer squash and 2 artichokes in the corners in the area tilled with the old tiller I had planted cabbage luttuce and one tomato . I have post with wire between them that had grape vines (I still have 6 vines) I tilled a strip there and planted cucumbers that will be trained up the wires. . some of the winter squash area needs tilled a second time . I'll do that tomorrow  and plant  a couple more types of squash and pumpkins for the grand daughter and I need a few sweet tater sets
We make bread and butter pickles can extra tomatoes  freeze beans if we have extra and have the winter squash  every thing else is table veggies

Sounds like a great garden.  I've planted my lettus, carrots and onions.  I've also started another short row of asparagus in one of my raised beds.  I've had such terrible success trying to get a decent patch in regular tilled ground that I figured I might try a raised bed and see if the warmer soil temps would help.  I've also started a row of green beans in one of the raised beds.  Typically we don't start anything that needs warmer temps until Memorial weekend but if the beans don't come up I can replant again then.
 
The blueberry pods are about ready to blossom out and I'm figuring to plant potatoes next weekend.

Not to rub it in, but I just picked and cooked my first mess of green beans...been eating crookneck squash and zucchini for a couple of weeks...tomatoes are beginning to "lighten up" like they do just before they start to turn pink...I have blackberries, Methley plums and two varieties of peaches ripe.  Things are going well here in Zone 8.

Been dry here. Got 2 1/2 in rain a week ago and the garden is dry. We are eating green onions but radishes are a long ways off, only about 50% came up. We planted about 2 dz volunteer tomato plants, they were lousy with potato bugs, never seen that before. Planted more onions, 3 types of summer squash, cukes, a few potatoes and about 20 ft row of green beans. I'll get some pepper plants next week and that will be it til turnips this fall. I've watered the onions 5x now. Wish I could put out as much as we used to. BTW. A guy told me that walmart does not handle 10 -10-10 anymore, just 10-0-10. They want the phosphates gone. Go figger. POWDERMAN.

Phosphate fertilizers are hard to find in stores because they are banned for residential use in many areas due to overuse and subsequent water quality issues that it has caused.  If you need P and K fertilizer for your garden, your best bet will be at your local farm supply store or, if you can find one that will work with you, a nearby farm co-op.  Walmart and other big chain stores just won't carry anything with phosphorous in it.  All this, by the way, should serve as a reminder that we should all be responsible when using fertilizers and pesticides - even on small areas.  If we dont self regulate, the government will tell us when, where and how we can use these materials - if we are allowed to use them at all.  Sorry for the speech - I just felt it was a good time to issue a reminder to everyone!

like to never found sweet potato plants I called 15 places  Lowe's had one 9 pack. I  left had help from the grand daughter on the squash and pumpkins . She is 3 so it is still cool to hang out with Pappaw    Got a grandson  coming in August . When dad told her to get in the car she said "I want to stay with GG (Grandma Ginny)  and pappaw. that put a smile on the wifes face

Between Sat night and yesterday we got a nice slow rain, about 1 1/2 in. By next weekend I expect to see a bit of green popping up. POWDERMAN.

Funny how only 40 or 50 miles makes a difference.  It's only been dry enough 3 times in the last 5 weeks to get in my garden.  I have to say though this is the best looking garden I've ever had and especially for this time of year.  Potatoes are knee high, cabbage is already heading up nicely and onions are getting eaten.  Corn is 6" tall and everything else looks great even after up to baseball sized hail a week or so ago.

plumberroy,   I am in OH also more north of you,  Have you had sucess growing the artichokes before ?  I may try growing some if they have worked for you.  Thanks

Never tried , I all ways try to grow something new (I have never tried to grow before) every year this year its artichokes  found the plants at walmart  Check back in 100-120 days and I'll let you know

popcorn is knee high, got marble sized green tomatoes, carrots are up, onions are nearly waist high, summer squash has thumb sized fruits, winter squash has golfball sized fruits, sweet corn, and green beans are planted, but we are dry, and have only had 1" total rainfall this passed three months.
