Correct forend?
« on: May 21, 2012, 10:08:22 AM »
I've just acquired a Contender g2.  In the near future I'll want to get additional barrels.  How are barrels matched to proper foreends?  How do I know if the forend that came on my
contender with its 8" 44 magnum barrel will fit whatever barrel I get next?  Thanks (sorry for the foolish questions),  Dennis

not a foolish question...most forends that fit 12",14"  have two mounting screws..most ten inchers have one mount..there our custom makers who put what the customer requests on the barrel..carbine barrels usually have  two, but the spacing is different.

Okay thanks!  I have a forend with 2 mounting screws and an 8" barrel...so is that forearm likely to also fit an 10, 12 or 14" barrel?  Thanks, Dennis
