Whats your dream handi???  My 45-70 Buffalo Classic, to shoot better than my eyes at 1000yds with BP and a vernier sight

Couldn't find my dream Handi, so I built it myself. .357 mag.

Great minds think alike.  ;)   Several years ago I did a very similar thing except mine was based on a stainless steel Rossi R357S rifle.  The Rossi 357 is built on their .410 shotgun frame so already light at 4 pounds but I didn't like the 23" barrel so had it trimmed to 16.25".  Now it's about 3.5 pounds.  I prefer open peep sights for my use so installed a Williams WGRS peep made for a TC Contender- perfect fit.  Also removed the black paint from the hardwood stock and gave it several coats of boiled linseed oil.  Ammo butt cuff, and sling finish it off.  I shot it stock for 2 years then back in 2007 made the improvements.  Great handy lightweight gun.  I do have a scope base for it, may put a red-dot sight in the future as my eyes dim.

Only one dream gun?  I'd like to have several...   Here's a short list..

17 Hornady
218 Bee
257 Roberts
6.5x55 Swede
7x30 Waters
338 Federal or 338-06
356 or 358 Win
375 Win
405 Win

A handgun caliber in either 327 or 41 mag would be fun too!

If it has to be one, and game no bigger than deer on list... I'd choose 257 Roberts.  ;)
