New 2 Board / New H&R Owner
« on: May 23, 2012, 12:24:57 PM »
Hi, folks...

Just received my new H&R Buffalo Classic in 45 Colt today... :D

Got some 300 grain XTP's and 345 grain HCGC from Reeds on the way...

Bought it for a 'throw in the car / camping' gun for bears and 2 legged snakes in the U.P....

I've thought about removing the front and back sight in favor of a peep setup with a brass front sight... any ideas on how to remove them....???

=============================
Well, even though I own a small piece of land there I only visit in the summer...
Actually, I DID visit for the 2 week deer season one year... too warm though.... they weren't moving.

Anyone here adorn their BC with a buttstock cover...???  You know, the kind that can
be used to attach a sling...???  If so,  what did you get and where did you buy it...???

Welcome, and don't worry about a thing.  Most here don't know what Trolls are ::) ::)   Sorry I can't help you with ideas for the BC.  Mine is one of my few that's just the way it came from the factory.  I haven't even 454ed or 460ed it.

Dixie Gun Works or Track of the Wolf will probably have something you can use.

Next time you head this way, give me a shout.

Welcome tryn2!

Both sights are 3/8" dovetails, just knock em out with a brass drift and a hammer, see BC front sight removal in the FAQs sticky, there are links in the FAQs for sights that you may want to use also.  ;)

Peep sights are definitely the way to go. Another bullet that works great in the 45 Colt Carbine is the Sierra 300 grain JSP.

Welcome!

Welcome.  ;)  You might take a look at the Skinner Sight system.  Very nice and well rated by those that have them.  He is a sight sponsor also. ;)  He has brass front sights also.  ;)
