South was on this evenings "How it's Made" on Science channel.
They showed, moulding, pouring, shot blasting, cutting away excess sprue, turning exterior, grinding, boring, lining, painting and firing all in about 8 minutes.
The boring and inserting of lining was very interesting. They showed shots of tooling and lathe set up in the lathe-big steady rest. The epoxy was applied down the bore and liner was inserted. Everything was put back in lathe. The barrel was rotated and the tail stock was used to force the the liner home. A fixture on the tail stock kept the liner for turning as it was seated into the spinning barrel. They explained this spread the epoxy completely between barrel and liner and released air.
