I would like to know the condition of the '59 chevy's frame, and whether or not there was an engine under it's hood.... 
 
Not to take anything away from the safety features of cars today, but I feel like the mass of that old chevy should have been harder to move than it appeared in that video.

My first thoughts too, but I saw no debris like rusted metal falling from the older car, and then learned that this was a true and legitimate test conducted to get real insight, not for some partisan axe grinding.
 
Have a look at these old GM videos and you'll see the same kind of results. If this doesn't get you to wear a seat belt and have a car with a head rest, nothing will:
