Will the rear sight off a 10 inch ,44 magnum Contender barrel work on a 14 inch ,44 magnum Contender barrel?

Standard on a 10" is medium height (old style .200, new style .230).
Standard on a 14" is high (old .270, new .330).
Evolution at work. Over two million years ago the genus Homo had small cranial capacity and thick skin to protect them from their environment. One species has evolved into obese cranial fatheads with thin skin in comparison that whines about anything and everything as their shield against their environment. Meus

It couldn't hurt to try it anyway.  Doesn't take but a minute to install a sight.  It might work ok for your purposes, just might not be the "ideal" factory height.

barber - you're very welcome.

Deznyco - TC developed different sight heights for good reason and "matched" them for different cartridges and barrel lengths (to take into account for things like contours, trajectories, etc).   So factory 10" and 14" 44MAG bull barrels DO NOT have the same front sight height either, #4 and #6 respectively, with a .105" difference between them.   That's a huge difference as open sights go.   For a 10" rear to work reasonably with a 14" front you'd have to shim the rear sight close to that difference for optimum use.   Would be easy enough to do with stainless shim stock though if you want to go that route.
FWIW

Which part of the rear sight would I measure to determine its height? My Encore 20" 20ga barrel with Tru Glo sights and my Turkey loads was hitting high with the rear adjusted all the way down. T/C sent me a new taller front sight which brought the point of impact down but I am still bottomed out with the rear sight. I would like a bit of adjustment if I could get it.

No idea on Encore sight dimensions from me, sorry... I never bothered to put a data base together for their sights (or for anything for the G2's or G2 era barrels).

Can suggest on Contender barrels the rear sight dimensions are the blade height itself not including the base; on front sights from the top of the barrel to the top of the blade (ie, including base).
