I'm looking at getting a Ruger Single Six and was wondering if any of you have any experience with mounting scopes or other optics.  Any suggestions for mounts or bases would be great.

Thanks ahead of time.

My momma always told me: If you don't have something positive to say, shut up.  I normally try to do what mamma says, but this time I gotta throw in my two cents.    Don't scope it!!  This is probably one of the best shooting, longest lasting, most reliable, most fun to shoot pistols ever made. I applaud you your choice.  This pistol dosen't need a scope unless your eyes are even worse than mine.  Give the pistol a try before you go saddling it with a scope.  I don't think you'll be disapointed.

i have to agree, Don't scope it. I have squirrel hunted with one for many years and have not seen the need for a scope. I do however have a 2X Leupold on my MKII target and it is as deadly on squirrels as a rifle.

I will likely give it a shot (pun intended) without the scope and see what I think after that.  I will probably pick it up this week so I will let you know how it goes and what I decide.

Lloyd, where did you hear about this single six hunter? Where could I get info on it?  I see one in my future if I can find one. I have a hunter in 44mag already and would love to get a 22 version.  Thanks.....Flinch

the Single Six Hunters are indeed in the '04 Ruger ctalog.  they're to be available in .17HMR and .22lr/.22mag (duel cylinders) in the same configuration as the lager Hunters.  I posted about them here back in ov i believe.  Got the $ for one just need them to be released.  Be a great little sister to my 45 Hunter.

If you have to have a scope, get the B-Square scope mount.  It is probably the best one for the single six.
