I got to shoot my .17HM2 last night
« on: June 14, 2012, 02:08:24 AM »
I am in love...  ::)

Trigger is right at 3 lb pull. By far the smoothest and clean breaking trigger I have yet seen on a handi out of the box. I only had time to run 10 rounds through. First three shots were to sight the scope in. Last 7 shots were about a 1 inch group at 50 yards just below the bulls eye. 4 of the seven were touching and could easily be covered with a dime! I have not polished the bore nor bedded the stocks yet so I am sure this will improve. That with a little more tweaking on the scope and I should have an honest sub MOA rifle at 100 yrds.

I changed out the stock. It is wearing a shotgun stock with a chopped forearm that is ready for a black cherry end cap. I plan on cutting down the buttstock a bit and dressing it up with the same piece of black cherry for a grip cap and, drum roll please, a black cherry cheek rest for proper eye alignment with the scope. Then some tung oil for the finish. Not sure how that will turn out, but I am going to give it a try. I will get some pics posted of progress. So My five year plan just got a little busier.

Happy shooting!

Welcome to the fold!!

Mine is a excellent shooter as well as I am sure you have read of my compliments on it. ;)

I haven't dressed mine up at all... I had a lam stock, but switched to a black syn... I did put a good scope on her as soon as I saw how well it shot!!  VXII 3x9x40 AO.

EVERYONE should own one!!! I KNOW they wpuld if they shot one!

BEST of luck with yours,
 CW

The only scope I had that was not being used was a Redfield Revolution 4-12x40. I just threw it on there so I could get out and shoot, but like you once I seen how well it shoots and this thing looks to have a lot of potential so the scope just might have to stay. Now I need another scope... :-\

LOL. (sarcassam) I have NEVER done that!!!! (end sarcassam)

LOL!!!
  My buddie likes to remind me how many times I have bought a new gun, only to swap scopes cause one on "that" gun is better suited to the new gun. ::) The ensuing swapping results in at least three diff guns needing to be re sites in!!! Same thing happens when someone posts a used Leupold that I just "gotta" have.....

God bless,
CW
