A lot of folks have said Unique is dirty but I've never experienced it.  231 is a pistol powder and very limited in it's usefulness.  Unique does it all since the 1890s.

I have used Trail Boss since introduced with my cast lead bullets but I hd never gave it  thought to just use it in old mil. bolt actions or my lever Marlins with jacketed bullets. Fill to base of bullet and enjoy.  That's easier than frozen cookie dough :D .  Anyone try it in  .243 or a .222?

I just tried TB last week in my 45-70. For mild loads I'd say it's just about perfect.

I tried Trail Boss for the first time this past week.  I made a variety of loadings in 357 Magnum and shot them in the Ruger LCR, S&W 586 and a couple of carbines.  Even the hottest loads were fun in the LCR.
‎Is it really Zombie Max, if it's not .357 Max?

bcb im glad you like trail boss you must do a lot of shooting?i used to use unique in my hand guns but i found that 231 was shooting cleaner haven't used it in 25 years. i go to the range once a week.using trail boss in my rifles makes shooting painless and more fun. ;D
