A good start......

I wish that they had gone a little further.

I am a land owner in Alabama, I think. I am required to pay property taxes every year on it. If I do not pay those taxes, then, in time, they take my land away from me and give it to someone else to pay the tax.  So it seems that the government owns my property and charges me yearly rent and lets me can tell folks that it belongs to me. Some places are much worse. They even tell you what you can and cannot do on your own property. It reminds me of King Georges quit rents.

I am glad that they did this. Now get America out of the UN. It is an organization for control freaks.

If you retire in Alabama, own property you live on, and are only on social security, you don't pay property tax.

This   is   called   homestead    exemption  .   You  have   to   be   age   65   or   disabled   to   qualify.

Quote
Political opposition in the United States

In the United States, many conservatives view Agenda 21 as a conspiracy or plot by the UN. Several state and local governments have considered or passed motions and legislation opposing Agenda 21.  In the same vein, in 2012 the Republican National Committee (RNC) drafted a resolution opposing Agenda 21, calling it "a comprehensive plan of extreme environmentalism, social engineering, and global political control." The language for this resolution, and others introduced in various state houses around the country, was drafted by the John Birch Society as a "model resolution" to oppose Agenda 21. Alabama became the first state to prohibit government participation in Agenda 21.

Salient portion of Wikipedia above.

No truer words were ever penned.

Akin to:  "We're from the Government and we're here to help"...and it ALL makes me sick!

The government has NOTHING that it didn't TAKE from someone TO GIVE TO someone else.   As a Land Owner, that suits my perception of the situation in dotting the "I's" and crossing the "T's".

And so, if you are the turnip that is too impoverished to be bled, and no longer useful to them, then they freely let you keep what little was yours in the first place.
How benevolent of them!
