Excellent article on the downsides of laws like that passed in Kansas, which purportedly counter the (non-existent) threat of 'Sharia Law'

Christians & good citizens, pay attention and resist knee-jerk response! This from one of our better conservative mags, National Review:
Quote
It is particularly disappointing to see Sam Brownback — a committed Catholic with deep ties to the evangelical-Protestant community and a strong record on religious-liberty matters — signing an anti-sharia bill. Addressing the 2006 Religious Liberty Dinner in Washington, D.C., Brownback said that people denied religious liberty “deserve our efforts” to vindicate their rights. He cited the Epistle to the Hebrews in calling on those who possess liberty to remember “those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.” Brownback’s point is as true today as ever: American Christians must stand for the religious liberty of Muslims if they are to argue persuasively for their own.

Perhaps the most acute irony of the anti-sharia movement is that it undermines our national security, in particular our ability to constructively engage peaceful Muslims and to take action against terrorists. In ways various and immeasurable, the anti-sharia movement’s implication that all Muslims are radicals amplifies resentments and fuels hate encouraging Americans to view their neighbors with suspicion and distrust. Even worse, it threatens to turn our Muslim fellow citizens, and our Muslim allies abroad, against America.

Compelling read, I'd say... thoughts? Full article at

Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

yt3,

When Muslims lay down their arms, stop making bombs, stop killing innocents, stop saying they are persecuted and require special status, we shall have peace.    When Muslims stop launching rockets into Israel in the name of Allah, we shall have peace.   When Muslims agree to abide by the common laws of a sovereign nation, we shall have peace.

Until that time, I swear eternal hostility against the tyranny of Islam, sharia, and the hadiths.

SWAMPTHING. Good post Sir. The thing some don't seem to understand is that Christianity is a true, God fearing religion. The other a worshiper of a false God and false pedophile prophet, not a religion at all, just a cult of hatred and death. As long as there are muslims and their sympathizers and enablers there will be a need for anti sharia law in America. There is no such critter as an American. muslim, those 2 words shouldn't even be on the same page, let alone be used in the same sentence. Every convert to islam is a soul lost to satan himself. Forgot to add earlier -- we fight so much for religious freedom of the Judaeo-Christian tradition, as we fight against enslavement to Islam and their liberal sycophants and facilitators.
