Why the secrecy?? This story has disappeared from several news sources for some reason. Possibly another convert to islam?? Possibly not, we'll see. Anybody find an update with the shooters name?? POWDERMAN.  :( :(

Powderman, most of the time your posts are laughable and just plain ridiculous.  This one hits too close to home, and just plain pisses me off!!!


I know the Soldier who was killed, I worked with him when he was a company commander, and saw him get promoted just before we left Fort Bragg.  He was a good man.  His name is not being released because they are still allowing the family time to notify close relatives before it is put out on national news.


As for the shooter.  Nothing about him will be released until the family of the victim has all been notified.  I guarantee, once his name is released, the press will get hold of exactly which unit he is in..... you are surely smart enough to imagine how it would feel to hear a close family member's unit mentioned on TV along with the fact that a "senior leader" was shot.....and have no idea if it is your family member who was killed or not.


I have some very close friends I left behind in the 525.  Some were on the field when it happened......it was not a "convert to Islam".

Hardertr. I'm sorry you lost a friend an am sorry for him and his family. I misread the article and thought that the commander had been identified. When I saw that an American soldier had been murdered by a fellow soldier my mind went to hasan, and several other murders and plots in our military by muslims. I appologize if I offended you. POWDERMAN.  :( :(

It's called waiting until notification of kin! Why are you so quick wanting to pass judgement on this.Murder is murder! Does it really matter what religion the murderer is, or even if they belong to a certain religion!Looks like your trying to fan the flames before theres a fire here. Give it a rest!

I'll bet there are a few folks who are hoping, hoping HOPING that the shooter was a Muslim, so that they can say, "See? I knew it!"


They're probably going to be disappointed. There's also probably also a bunch of Arab-Americans (most being Muslims) who are hoping, hoping, hoping it was not a Muslim, as they do not want to see the hatred and bigotry further inflamed, which is the end goal of the formerly described group.

  After finally seeing the article in question, "next of kin notification" hadly seems like a viable reason, since the article did divulge the names of the victims of the murder spree.
   Although with incidents like the Ft Hood terrorist does raise questions, not all are by way of Muhammad..not directly anyway.
  I just buried a soldier in our local cemetery who was murdered in his sleep by a fellow soldier, who may have been suffering from PTSD.
   A tough way to come home...
 
  Incidently, the killer's name was not divulged nearly as quickly as the victim's name was...
