PLEASE HELP ME STOP MCAFEE VIRUS

5 mos ago they destroyed my puter and i had to buy a new one, got AVG VIRUS PROTECTION on this new one and its great, i just got an e mail from mcafee that they are going to renew my mcafee automatic soon

Step one in cases like this is to never accept any terms that include an automatic charge to your credit card. It's too late for that, it seems. You could call your credit card company and have them decline payment to mcaffee. I had McAffee years ago and recall that there is a deeply buried way of contacting them in an inconvenient manner, but it did seem to be possible.


Start doing some google and bing searches on this. Surely someone has figured it out.


My thoughts on McAffee? They can go to hell, those b.s.a.rds. That was the most vile and invasive piece of s..t software I have ever seen, and I hope everyone who works for them or sells it goes to hell after dying a horrible and painful lingering death. In other words, I can empathize with you on this issue.

Darn, Conan, why don't you tell us how you really feel about. McAfee. 

I've heard too many bad things about it to use it. I have purchased a couple of computers that had a free trial. I just got rid of it and installed Norton. I switched to the free version of Avast a couple of years ago and love it.

Not surprising, a lot of "US" service centers are located offshore, hope it works for ya and ya never have to deal with em again!

I've been using avast for years and haven't had a virus yet. I've helped a lot of buddies fix viruses that had mcafee, and then switched them to avast, too. Free works!
 
Norton is as bad as McAfee, IMO.

I switched to Avast several years back as well, and none of the computers I manage have become infected, even though some of the users are careless.

Also, of the past 12 computers I've removed viruses from for friends and relatives, not one was running Avast.  After the first repeat customers, I started installing Avast, and have never had one come back.

I've had no problems with either McAfee or Norton.  I had McAfee for awhile but have Norton now.  No virus problems.

AVG, Stopzilla(paid versions)+MalWare(free)  here. Plus I'm careful where I go.
