.357 load question ?
« on: July 13, 2012, 06:21:20 AM »
I've spent 90% of my gun budget on building a AR in 6.8 SPC and the other 90% on tricking it out, so I'm a little low on funds for any other gun project.

I just mailed my SB1 stock/reciever to H&R for a .357 Magnum barrel.

The only components I have is:
158 Hornady XTP
100 nickel Starline brass
Rem 6 1/2 small rifle primers and Hodgdon Lil'Gun powder.

Seeing how it will be fired with the H&R reciever will the Rem 6 1/2 primers work with the Lil'Gun ?

It should be just fine. If your SB1 has the shotgun (large) firing pin, it will probably make things easier for you, less chance of the primer flowing back into the firing pin hole. Just start you loads at the low end to make sure the hotter primer doesn't push you over the top on pressure.
