They injected a drug just approved 2 years ago for this. Trying to turn off the bleeding in the eye to keep the vision loss from getting worse.

The specialist said what everybody here has.  The vision may get better or it may not.  May take weeks, months or years to improve, if it does...  ::)

At least my attitude is better... Bambi ain't gonna get a free pass this year!   ;D

Dang that's gotta hurt. We will keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best. As far as shootin', if there is a will there is a way.

Good Luck and keep your chin up, we are all pulling for you.

Just thinking about it hurts, good luck with your vision. Time to learn to shoot lefty.

My wife has been getting those shots in both eyes every 4 or 5 weeks for over a year.  She usually has a pretty sleepless night afterwards, but she says by the next afternoon her eyes feel back to normal.

Thank God, her sight has VASTLY improved over the course of the year.  Sure hope the treatment works out well for you too.

Thanks folks!   :D   I guess this isn't uncommon since the Doc had a couple of printed brochures about it.  Rare in people under 50 and comes with hardening of the blood vessles from what I understand.

It darn sure isn't any better but at least it doesn't seem to be getting any worse.  Matter of fact I went on a run with my club yesterday.  Rode in the back of the pack though!   ;D

Gonna start working on learning to shoot a rifle left handed soon.   ;)

Back of the pack; sgl file I expect, too (gives a guy more room to cover his mistakes). Maybe its better to have a bad eye than a bad ear, at least the eye doesnt affect your balance!
Its not too bad switching hands/eyes; I did it years back and it mosly comes down to muscle memory to make it feel comfortable.

Yeah, I should consider switching also, my left eye is much better than my right.  Good luck with your eyesight Richard, our prayers are with you.  Here's to the most improvement possible!  Got one of my friends here just got his drivers license pulled and lost his job because of vision loss from macular degeneration.  You don't realize how many people are affected with various ills, until you get one yourself.  Then you notice lots of people with the same problem!  44 Man

Hey Lewis!

That is so true!  Every time I start whining and complaining with the poor poor pitiful me thing, I hear from so many other members who have gone through similar and often much worse things then I.   :(  It really makes me feel like a crybaby.   :-[  That's when I say to myself "pity party's over, what are you going to do to work around this?" and drive on!   ;D

Speaking of driver's licenses, since I was home all last week, and my birthday was Saturday, I renewed my DL on Friday.  We usetacould do it on line but starting this year you have to do it in person once, then your license is marked so that it shows you have proved who you are where you're from and such stuff as that.   ;)  I had to bring my birth cert. and all kinds of other proof that I'm a US citizen, resident of Georgia and have a valid SSAN!

Of course Kathie drove and I was really worried since the law change also said if you're over 64 you have to take a vision test.  Suprise suprise, the lady didn't give me a vision test!   :o And I darn sure didn't remind her!   ::)

Back of the pack; sgl file I expect, too (gives a guy more room to cover his mistakes).

Yup!  That's it!   ;D  I could do a lot of screwing up and nobody could see!   ;D ;D  We usually ride in pairs but I wasn't sure enough of my self to be booking down the road 10 feet off the bike in front of me and sharing the width of the roadway with another 800 lb. 2 wheeler!  ::)

Hey Richard :  Got the same problem in the left eye. been getting shot in the eye every month for the last 6 months. before that got the shot for 4 months then the Doc gave me 3 months off to see the effect.  it fixed the first black spot  then I got another dead center of focus. the shots do seem to help except my close up vision is a little blurry. I always try to get an afternoon appointment, take the needle, go to the VA canteen and drink some coffee. after about 30--45 minutes the blurriness goes away enough that I drive home (about 2 miles) take a shower and go to bed before the headache starts. I am one of the ones that seem to get a small migraine from the shot. So I just sleep it off.  the shots do seem to help so I figure Iffin' I have to take one a month----well, I'll just tough it out. ??? .  I feel for you, brother.  I DO know what you are going through. God Bless to all.
