Associated Press    Fire officials in California say at least 21 people were treated for burns after attendees of an event for motivational speaker Tony Robbins tried to walk on hot coals.
The San Jose Mercury News reports that at least three people went to a hospital and most suffered second- or third-degree burns.
Robbins was hosting a 4-day gathering called "Unleash the Power Within" at the San Jose Convention Center. Witnesses say on Thursday, a crowd went to a park where
12 lanes of hot coals were on the grass.
Robbins' website promotes "The Firewalk Experience" in which people walk on super-heated coals.
Witness Jonathan Correll says he heard "screams of agony."
Fire Capt. Reggie Williams says organizers had an open fire permit and emergency personnel were on standby.

I'm curious to know what these "emergency personnel" were doing exactly. Ready to put out a grass fire or what?

"It was people seriously hurting, like they were being tortured," he told the paper. "First one person, then a couple minutes later another one, and there was just a line of people walking on that fire. It was just bizarre, man."      You just can't make this stuff up.

I'd really like to know what went wrong here. They've been doing those "fire walks" for a long time, and there is a trick to it that depends on the properties of the material used for coal, how much ash it has on it, and probably some other variables. It's one of those tricks that does work. I just don't know what was different that caused this one to go awry.

I moved a wood pile over the weekend and pizzed off 6 . Hoe calmed them down

   The problem is, these New-Age gurus suck all these willing ditzies in with talks about "etherial minds", "celestial thoughts", "mind control" and "universal cognition"...and perhaps another hundred tricky phrases..  They neglect to tell them that it is simply a TRICK...and all the conditions have to be carefully prepared, observed and tested before any suckers... or "elevated souls", step out upon them..
  Remember; even grandma said.."don't play with fire, because you may get burned" ...
